Social Safeguards Specialists

We are looking for senior level professionals with a strong background in social development and sound experience in working in water supply and sanitation projects in highly populated unplanned peri-urban areas in Sub-Saharan African countries, particularly Angola.

The candidates must have the following qualifications and skills:

a) Bachelor degree in Social Sciences. Post-graduate degree will be an added advantage;

b) At least three years of post-qualification working experience in the position of Social Safeguards Specialists (or equivalent) working in infrastructure projects in highly populated unplanned peri-urban areas in Sub-Saharan African countries

c) Previous experience in working in a similar position in internationally financed projects

d) At least one year of experience in water supply/sanitation projects in unplanned peri-urban areas will be an added advantage.

e) Work experience in the Sub-Saharan African countries and working experience in Angola will be an added advantage.

f) Good working communication skills in English and Portuguese.

g) Strong computer skills.

The position is open for experts who have immediate availability to work in Angola, and will comprise a part time allocation for a period of approximately 26 months.

Candidates based in Angola or with Angolan nationality will be given preference.
